Plasma Air Installed in Unity Center in Poland

Plasma Air, the leading innovator in indoor air quality (IAQ) solutions, announces that its ionization systems have been selected and installed in the Unity Center, a mixed-use development being constructed in Krakow, Poland. The project is the result of a multi-year, forward-thinking development created to transform the area into a premier business and residential center. This new development will transform the city, bringing modern workplaces for companies to grow, luxury residential apartments, a new hotel, vibrant shopping and dining.
The beautiful city of Krakow is plagued by poor air quality in the winter months, mainly from high levels of PM2.5 from vehicles and the burning of coal. For this reason, the developers, Eurozone Equity and GD&K Group, were keen to ensure the new buildings are a safe haven from the pollution’s harmful effects on health. They also understand that poor indoor air quality has a direct impact on employers, their staff health and productivity. This is evidenced in a 2015 collaborative study between universities in China and Denmark. In this study, a link was found between bio-effluents and cognitive performance.
The Unity Center development began in 2016 and is scheduled to be completed in 2021 at the cost of $104.5m. The project includes the construction of five modern buildings, namely the Unity Tower (one of the tallest buildings in the area), Unity Residence, University Office, Western Office building, and Eastern Office building. The masterplan brings together several progressive and innovative design features that promote sustainability and wellbeing. Among those modern features will be Plasma Air’s air purification systems.
Plasma Air’s HVAC bipolar ionization solutions reduce harmful airborne pollutants, bacteria, viruses, VOCs and odors. “We worked closely with our Polish distributor KMK Klima to provide the most innovative air purification system, with the understanding that the goal is to create a healthy space for people to work, live and play,” said Chris Russell, VP of Plasma Air. “Our partnership KMK Klima and the developer has been remarkable, and it forms the basis for the very positive long-term relationship needed to bring this dynamic air quality project forward.”
WellAir is the leading innovator in indoor air quality by manufacturing Plasma Air HVAC air purification products and Novaerus portable air disinfection products that result in healthier, more productive indoor environments in institutional, commercial, residential, and industrial applications. The Plasma Air HVAC purification systems use highly efficient bipolar ionization technology to neutralize indoor air pollutants and maintain pristine indoor air quality. Plasma Air systems have been proven in thousands of applications to provide the highest level of air quality improvement for airports, schools, hotels, casinos, arenas, offices, senior living facilities, and homes.
